i received a BA in architecture from Portland State University. One highlight of my experience there was winning an annual travel fellowship and spending a summer in guatemala and mexico surveying mayan architecture, after which i returned to give a presentation to the department. PSU’s arch program has grown a lot since my time there, considering the personalities of faculty at the time my experience was much like a philosophical variant of art school. more than anything i learned how to learn, how to take large, complex tasks and break them into smaller components and sequentially engage them until the total composite work is done. learning how to use 3D modeling software spurred a continuing interest in 3D digital representation which has expanded to include videography, compositing, motion graphics, and programming in the time since i graduated
